1 in 6 Can’t Afford Menstrual Products — You Can Make a Difference

Did you know? 1 in 6 people who menstrate have experienced period poverty. That is 17% of people who menstrate in Canada can not afford to buy the items they need.

The number jumps to 1 in 4 amongst those living in lower income households.

The truth is people are facing choices of using unclean alternatives, like using products to long to cut costs, using socks, or rangs which can pose health risks.

We use to get lots of period product donation. That has decreased drastically over time. The need has not decreased. The need is very real

We package our pads and tampons in ziploc bags to avoid moisture getting into product. We like to add a small Kleenex pack and an extra small ziploc bag in the package. This helps if a person has no where to dispose of the used product if sleeping outside, or couch surfing.

We need pads , tampons, small Kleenex tissue packs, ziploc sandwich bags.
