How to Share Safely and Kindly
Our community pantry runs on mutual respect and care. To keep the items safe, usable, and helpful for everyone, please follow these simple guidelines
Partnership with Saorsie Co-operative
BL’s Little Free Pantries has a partnership with Saorsie Co-operative Housing in Brantford.
This is a private indoor pantry for the Saorsie Co-op residents only. We share food with their volunteer team who care for the pantry.
Partnership with West Glen Co-op
West Glen Co-op located at 47 Galelio Blvd. One home of BL’s Little free Pantries free food giveaways. Great location with kind people and neighbours. We thank you for your hospitality.
Our Approach
Our Outdoor Free Food Pantries are strategically placed in locations across Brantford where access to food may be limited, such as food deserts or low-income neighborhoods. These pantries are stocked with a variety of non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and other essentials.
Maintaining Outdoor Pantries
One of the key benefits of our Outdoor Pantries is their ability to provide a sense of dignity and autonomy to those facing food insecurity. Each pantry has stewards who oversee the stock, quality and amount of food that is present at a given time. In addition, BL has a pantry care team that goes to the pantries throughout the day to clean, top up, and organize them, ensuring they are welcoming to patrons using the pantry. This is done every day, many times a day. Thank you, stewards and pantry care team!
